Two Weekends Of Water Ski Racing
Sprint and marathon water ski races will be held March 29-30 & May 3-4
LA PALMA, Calif. – Some of the world’s top water ski racing athletes will compete in the 2025 Havasu Springs Water Ski Races, March 29-30 and May 3-4, at the Havasu Springs Resort on Lake Havasu in Parker, Ariz.
Both events are sanctioned by the National Water Ski Racing Association (NWSRA) and will feature some of the world’s top water ski racing athletes. The NWSRA’s 2025 schedule showcases adrenaline-pumping action spanning across multiple locations, featuring marathons, sprints and ocean series races.
The Havasu Springs Water Ski Races will include four racing categories and more than a dozen classes within those categories, in addition to a Grass Roots division in which first-time participants enjoy free registration and assistance with gear and equipment to get started in the sport.
Sprint races will be held on Saturday and marathon races will take place on Sunday, with the exception of the Men’s Open and Men’s F2 classes, which will run marathons both days for world team qualifying, and Grass Roots, which runs sprint races both days.
Top U.S. water ski racers expected to compete include Mason Goldsmith (Los Alamitos, Calif.) and Amy Threlfall (Palmdale, Calif.), who were named the NWSRA’s 2024 Male Athlete of the Year and Female Athlete of the Year, respectively, along with Julia Williams (Long Beach, Calif.), who won the Women’s Open and Women’s Formula 2 titles at the 2024 U.S. Open Water Ski Racing National Championships. Goldsmith also won Men’s Open at the 2025 Parker International Marathons, March 1-2.
Additional U.S. athletes to watch include Ty Cheshier (Valencia, Calif.), who won 17-35 Men and Men’s Outboard at the 2024 U.S. Open Water Ski Racing National Championships, and Men’s F2 at the 2025 Parker International Marathons; Sophia Rivera (Westminster, Calif.), who won the Formula 2 Women overall titles at the 2024 and 2025 Parker International Marathons; Ryder Cook (Henderson, Nev.), the NWSRA’s 2024 Most Improved Athlete recipient; Ryder Tovatt (Huntington Beach, Calif.), the NWSRA’s 2023 Male Athlete of the Year and 2023 U.S. Junior Water Ski Racing Team member; and Gage Goldsmith (Los Alamitos, Calif.), the NWSRA’s 2023 Most Improved Athlete recipient and member of the 2023 U.S. Junior Water Ski Racing Team.
The Havasu Springs Water Ski Races also will be used as qualifying events for U.S. team selection for the 2025 IWWF World Water Ski Racing Championships, which will be held Aug. 23-31 in Viersel and Hasselt, Belgium.
Admission is free for spectators. Racing action begins at 9:10 a.m. on Saturday and 8:40 a.m. on Sunday. For additional information on the 2025 Havasu Springs Water Ski Races, including event registration and schedules, visit: https://nwsra.net/.
